There are many great tournaments on the PGA schedule each year. Certain events draw golf fans’ interest due to field strength, personal player favorites, or the particular venue the tournament is played at. Inside the PGA Player Performance Centers golfers are always focused and inspired by the challenges they face week to week. As professionals the course is their office. One cannot help but notice certain events generate an enhanced focus that replaces their weekly concerns.

The time of the year can also influence their behaviors. Their attentiveness to how their bodies feel and function can become more discreet. Their approaches to the course they are playing reflect the demands they anticipate will lead to victory. A course that is open and long or one that is narrow with high rough will dictate a thought process that demands optimal body function.

You often hear that going into the Master’s they want to be long off the tee so as to get a wedge in their hands for their approach shot. Consequently at this year’s Masters many players needed extra work on their bodies to negate the physical demands of swinging hard off the tee and walking a hilly course. Treatments for lower back, neck and shoulder issues were prevalent.

It is important to alleviate this dysfunction and inflammation immediately at Augusta because a Master’s victory is life changing for the professional golfer.

Equally important at this time of year is the physical and mental status of the golfer for the long haul ahead. Younger golfers may not realize it but veteran golfers are well aware this is the beginning of crunch time. Between the Majors and designated tournaments the next three months the PGA golfer will be playing a lot of golf on a weekly basis, for a lot of money. There will be no time for breaks due to injury.

Consequently visits into the PGA Therapy and Fitness Performance Centers increases. Golfers cannot afford to miss any events from here on to the FedEx Championship. They are very aware of how they feel and what they need to perform at their best. The staff of the PGA Performance Centers offer the best assessments and treatments available to accomplish the golfer’s goals. The PGA golfer’s body must be able to handle the intensity of the demands ahead.
